Hi Guys

I want to start my song with a sliding bass guitar going from high B to low B. A laddering down effect if that makes sense (As if someone was playing on a real instrument).

Anyone got any ideas on how to do this in X2.  I tried the SI Bass which allows you to slide but it slides just one note to the other.  I got the stock standard instruments and Dim Pro, etc.

Any ideas greatly appreciated
Daniel

several of the dim pro basses have string slides but you have to either experiment higher on a keyboard or in prv or open the sfz files to see whats going on.

DanHab - I don't have a patch that comes to the top of mind from the included Sonar sounds. There certainly could be one in the included sounds, I'm just not thinking of one.

But, should you ever want to expand your sound options, Trilion is great for that capability.

Not sure if this is what you're looking for? To do a slide from one bass note to another, I sometimes draw in pitch bend data in the piano roll view. I think the default slide distance is a tone, but I think you can change that in the soft synth settings or maybe sonar itself. Just make sure you enter a pitch control change back to zero again just before the second note. It looks something like this:

Yup - you can set pitch bend to go that far, no problem.  I usually have it on a whole note, but I actually need to do the same thing as you for a tune I am working up.

Yeah, some of the folks in the forum go all out with graphics and such.  I am constantly amazed, and pleased, that folks do offer those in posts - they are tremendously helpful.

One of the folks, swamptooth, pretty much got into nuclear physics in a post the other day about midi files at the bit level.  It was absolutely amazing.  And that was just to help a guy who likes playing around with early video game sound tracks as a hobby.  TOO KEWL.

Anyways - please do post back with results so we know you got this to work for you,

Bob Bone
