Hi Everyone,

So I'm sure many of you jumped on the free Soundtoys download last month for their plug-in called "Little MicroShift". Although it was a brilliant marketing campaign to create awareness of the company (you could only download the free plugin if you had a referral code from someone else), I am hearing very good things about this plugin as well as their other products.  The promotion just ended a day or two ago.

But for some odd reason, Little MicroShift is not showing up in my list of VST audio plugins in Sonar X2 (patched to X2a).  I have a custom plugin menu that I manage all my plugins with.  And when I go to manage my plugins menu, I cannot see it anywhere!

Although free, I did have to update my iLok account, which I did.  And the .dll file is present in my VST folder.  But I cannot seem to get it to show up.

I'm pretty flustered.  I re-installed the plugin again, but still nada.

Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions for me?

Thanks in advance for your help and advice!

Hi, I and others have had problems with 32bit iLok plugs not showing.

For one of my ANtares plugs I went into Cakealk plugin manager and selected the plugin and then went into the deeper "details" or whatever it is called option and the box for "use plugin" or similiar was unchecked.

Good luck :)

Thanks for the reply Backwoods. My problem is that it isn't even showing up at all in the plugin manager window. So I'm not able to select it to go to the details option. For some reason, Sonar isn't listing it even though it's installed.

I had the same problem. My solution was:

1. Select "Rescan existing plug-ins" from the Plug in manager options button.
2. Scan VST
3. When it appears in your registered plug-in list select it and then "properties", "enable as plug-in".

Remember to deselect "Rescan existing plug-ins" after as it will do it every time.

Hope that makes sense.

Soundtoys refuses to go 64bit and it angers me.

Thank you guys for the replies.

@Benny Bear - I was really hoping your advice would work, but I tried that and it's still not showing up. I'm really bummed.

@Elffin - All my other iLok software seems to be working just fine, and I checked my iLok software so there's no issues with iLok itself.

@bigboi - I am getting angry too! But doesn't Sonar recognize 32bit plugins as well? I'm running a few with no issues. Maybe just some 32bit plugs don't work? I'm wondering what Soundtoys would need to do in order for Sonar to see the plugin, even as it does other 32bit plugins? I'm glad you mentioned this, because I was seriously considering buying the Soundtoys VST suite after reading how much people like their products.

Hi Beeej21,
After I installed LMS I tried to scan the plug before D/Ling the iLok auth, and even after I got the auth it wasn't showing up for me. I think I removed the VST dll from the directory (just copied to my desktop), scanned VST's, put it back and scanned again and it worked.

Oh, and it works fine under 64-bit Sonar.

@Razorwit - You are the man, Dean!!!  I did exactly what you described and, wallah!  I was able to see LMS in my VST list after putting it back from the Desktop.  I loaded it with no problem into a session as well.  Whew!  So glad.

Do you know if all the Soundtoys plugins have similar issues?  I don't mind buying them and jumping thru a hoop or two so long as they WORK in the end.  Thanks again, Buddy!

I know they are beta testing a couple of plugs for 64 bit. But they are slow.   I bought $300 worth of plugs and theb realized they had no 64bit support.   My fault,  but they were careful not to include this in their product description. I emailed them about it and they apologized and agreed that they should put a 32bit only disclaimer in the plugs description. They told me that they would fix that on their web page....of course they still have not changed it.kinda shady.
