  • Losing Audio Clips Randomly

At first I thought maybe this was because of my own errors, and I can't explain how this is happening, but I'm losing Take Lane audio. Audio clips have simply disappeared in more than one Session. Not all audio clips in a track's Take Lanes would disappear, but other s are definitely coming up missing.

I can re-import the audio into the Take Lanes as before, but unfortunately, I'm now having to manually sync them up, which is changing the tonality of guitar tracks.

I'm also seeing issues with whole sections of a song being deleted from a saved session. I can easily recover from the missing sections, since the editing is non-destructive, but this is quite frustrating.

Wish I could be of help but I can't... Only thing I could recommend is giving cakewalk a very detailed set of steps you take that causes this to happen.

Other than that, i'm sure others will chime in.

I wish it were easy to reproduce, but it happens so sporadic and randomly. I'm just backing up my sessions after every sitting. It's an issue with the session, but fortunately I can quickly recover from a backup, and detect the issue when first opening the session.

Do you lose audio playback as well in those sections or is it just the wave gone but audio still plays?

Im not on X2 yet, just curious

Have you tried temporarily moving clips on other lanes out of the way to make sure the missing clips weren't sitting behind them?   That's an issue I've come across with take lanes on occasion.  I've never found a reproducible recipe though, it just sometimes (though not often) happens.

It's really like I had deleted whole sections of clips, and in some cases entire performances. Luckily, in each case, there would be a shard of the clips in the Take Lanes, where I can simply "grab" one end and expand it to show the rest of the clip, which recovers the audio as well.

To clarify, this looks exactly like I had tried to delete whole sections of a clip, but somehow accidentally also deleted the same amount of clips from other tracks. In either case, very annoying. I don't think it was accidental, though.

Did you Split and Delete?   If so, I think I've seen that too, when clips were hiding behind other clips and would be selected together.  Fortunately it's non-destructive.

Very fortunate it's non destructive.

Nah, no Splitting. Just a change after Saving and closing. Weird.
