Is anyone who is well versed in Superior Drummer willing to make a call to me...I am BEYOND pissed off and cannot for the life of me to save predefined kits AT ALL...no matter what "save" function I use it WILL not call up the correct drums and I have to reset the drums EVERY time...this is exhausting I am beginning to think I just wasted my money...and Toontrack support BLOWS...I know this a big request for some, but I'd really appreciate it. I think I am in WAY over my head with this program and am now so frustrated that I don't even want to write music...

I went to the support forum when I was concerned about an expansion pack and received replies from the staff in minutes.
Must have chosen the right time of day I suppose.....

Grum.

P.S. It wasn't an Easter holiday

Can you please detail exactly what steps you are following, including a description of what it is that you are trying to save?

Thanks,

Hi Frostysnake,
There are a few ways to save a kit in Superior Drummer and Sonar. The first is to just save the Sonar project. That should save the kit you've constructed along with everything else. If you want to save a kit to use in other projects, hit the "Load/Save" button at the top of the Superior Drummer window, choose "Combined Preset", then "Save As", click the "All button", choose "OK" and then type a name.

If that doesn't get you sorted let me know and I can try to help out more.

Hey Frosty,

As Razorwit mentioned saving via SONAR, I do that but instead use Track templates in favor of a project file.  BTW, in case this is unknown, a Track Folder can be saved as a track template simply by saving, in this case, choosing the MIDI track to save the template.  It works and I do it all the time, as needed.

As far as SD, can saving a set get any more complicated?  I love using BFD2.  Too cool for school.
Kind regards,

Thanks guys...I shut everything downlast night and had a royal meltdown...pretty sure my wife almost left me. Anyways, I will get back this evening and try again...I can save within X2, but a no go with saving things within SD2...I have tried the Load\Save..Combined presets...and evey other save on there...NOTHING works and saves things as I have it...beginning to hate the program. If I didn't like the sounds so much I would have burned all the discs in front of Toontracks store several weeks ago...I'm definetly not a happy customer...I am going to cool down before trying to contact tech support if I have to...I just wish there was a number you could call and talk to a real person...I am not a fast typer and I HATE doing things like business in such an impersonnal way...which is why I LOATH social media, but that gets into a whole other bees nest I won't open or even argue with on here...anyways, thanks for the continued support and I will maybe just go with the track\project templates...sounds like this is best anyways..

Hi Frostysnake,
One quick thing...make sure you have all the boxes checked when you're saving a combined preset or when you recall that preset you'll have lost most (or all) of your settings.

Re: track templates - holy crap yes. Multi-track templates that save the VSTi, bussing and FX are one of the truly cool things about Sonar (Cubase, which I also use and like, doesn't do this at all). Track templates + Sup Drummer = awesome and a huge time saver. I have about 20 of them.

I have done all that's been mentioned here, so I guess it is track templates...I'm still gonna be puzzled and aggravated why they won't save in SD2 for me..I like programs to work the way they are supposed to...

Are they not being saved or are they not being saved where you expect them to be.  I found the SD has a habit of dumping things in the last place you expect like in my case the root of my cakewalk project directory. useful???
