Having always purchased Sonar as physical media (DVD's) in the past, I'm a little confused about downloading it.
If I download Sonar X2, can I then burn my own physical DVD's of the program for backup? If not, what do you do if you have computer issues and have to re-load Sonar?
Also, I am still running Sonar Producer 8.3, can I install X2 AND still keep 8.3 installed in case I hate X2 or have issues with it?
Sorry for the dumb questions but, I'm a little behind the times here, it seems! Ha ha!

When you download the files, they are organized into several self-extracting rar files. You can burn the download files directly to DVD or you can expand the rar files, using a utility like 7-Zip, into the setup.exe and bin files and burn the files that way. The download files also continue to exist in you store account so you can always download them again on demand. Personally, I keep a copy of the download files on my hard drive and on a set of DVDs in their original download format.

As with every Cakewalk DAW product, you can always keep your older version live on your hard drive when you add a new one. 8.3 will co-exist with X2.

You should always leave the older version installed at least until after you install the new version because the new version will load your setup preferences from the older version.
