For me I don't find it unstable... and I haven't had much trouble in this with X1 or any release since... Tho I do get these crashes, they only seem to happen when changing from one song to another so there is nothing lost but a moment to re-open Sonar...

I have a feeling there is some minor issue here, but (for me) this is not big... I have far more trouble with Lanes than I do crashing... ;-)

I think I will get to X2a sooner than later, thanks. I love all the new features. Fingers crossed these minor things might disappear.
 
I have another windows 8 machine I can test it on with completely different hardware etc. before I migrate it into my studio.

Whenever I run into a glitch, I find Sonar is usually not the culprit. Some driver, plug-in or otherwise. I've used Cakewalk as my DAW since the mid 90's for that reason.

I'll post back if I find anything.
