You are SO much better doing a fresh install. It really only takes a couple of hours. Then you make an image of it at different point for the future.

I agree.


Do a full backup & make an image NOW so in case of disaster you can get back.


Then do a full clean install. Format your HDD before starting.


Make a note of all your registration numbers, authorisation codes etc. 

It might be a good idea to check you've got all the necessary installers in one place so you can easily launch them from one place.
