If you haven't tried it yet, try changing the settings to a Sample Rate of 44.1, and an ASIO Buffer Size of 128 or 64. Make sure that the Sample Rate in Sonar matches the rate in the interface - just a thought, that seems to provide a reasonable round trip latency without dropouts. It's all a balancing act - performance against audio quality.

Hi,
yes 44.1 does seem to go smooth, with the VS-100,always at 24bit,32 bit rendering.
Iv'e also adjusted/experimented with the"sync and caching" playback/record buffer size,as well as MIDI-Playback/Recording buffers, but left most at default.
One project today though,with only 16 tracks,10 busses,but lots of plugins,forced a "1024 samples"setting in ASIO,or it wouldn't play,but,no big deal,as it was only mixing,not recording.
One thing I did notice was, after downloading the latest W7 64 driver, was to make sure to consistently choose/double click "files",till you get to W7 "64 bit",which I thought was strange,as the driver downloaded, was already "for" Win 7 64 bit, but, making sure one continues to dbl click "files".it's possible to perhaps "prematurely" choose "set up"[for XP or Vista or 32 bit],which appears,at every dbl. click,["set up" that is],which I think I may have done, the first time.
I'll possibly sell the N,I, KA6,though for less than 9ms it does do well[when it can keep it's connection!],though I don't think I'll put this poor laptop, through the "white screen","hard shutdowns" again.
Cheers
Bob
