That's why we need customizable toolbars. So you can have what you like and other people can have what they like. What works best for you may not be best for others. Unless you think everyone should be forced to work your way because it's the right way.
When I'm making music I prefer not to be typing on a keyboard. If I want to type on a keyboard I'll open up word and write a nice letter to my mother. Otherwise I don't want to be bothered with tippy tap typing on a device that has zero to do with the music making process at that particular time.
Similarly, when I'm doing some heavy editing I prefer not to be sitting at a piano keyboard or have a guitar hanging around my neck or a pair of drumsticks in my hands. Those things get in the way of tippy tap typing on the computer keyboard.
Why is this so difficult? The UI needs to support the variety of ways the software is expected to be used. One set of colors, one big toolbar, one way of accessing key functions = design fail. My opinion, of course.
