hi, one thing ive noticed with x1 producer is that after i make a volume automation effect or any kind of automation with my mouse (not with my midi)i can not move or do anything to the clip iv automated in the track except making changes to the automation. After i make an automation i cant copy drag or anything to the clip because it will only allow me to change the automation. i cant seem to find a way to get around this, but i know theres obvously a way, but i need help. Please any help would be great. thanks in advance ps i never had this problem in 8.5.3

If you select the clip again in the drop down you can move it. Not sure if you can lock the automation you did to the clip as you move it??
Sorry I tested this in X1 and it works ok  not the same in x2. In x1 when you have automation and you move the clip the automation follows, X2 is different it wont follow the clip not sure the reason??

wheres the drop down, do u mean right click on the clip. also theres always the automation symbol on the mouse arrow when i place it on the clip. when i place the mouse on the top of the clip it will move the automation, when i place the mouse at the bottom of the clip it highlights the automation. im really missing somthing simple here. thanks for you reponse

Did you disable the "W" (write automation) button after the automation was done?

Check the manual for the "Edit Filter". There's also a video on my youtube page that runs through most of it.

With your mouse over the clip, press T on your PC keyboard to bring up the Tools HUD. Then change the drop-down menu on the bottom left of the HUD to Clips. Now you can edit the clip again. See this free video for some more info...

Nice video as usual Karl.
In sonar X2 this is slightly different if you have a short clip with an envelope the automation will not move if you move the clip in X1 the automation followed the clip. Is there another setting in sonar x2 to allow the envelope to follow the clip.

Thanks. Yes, make sure that "Select Track Envelopes with Clips" is selected. It's in the TV menu----->Options.
