I'm sure this question has been asked before...but...if you have two recorded mono tracks in a project (that are keyboard L/R for instance), how do you fold them down into a single stereo track?

...without resorting to an external wave editor...

Load the two mono tracks and export the mix and you have a stereo track that you can then import or select the two track and from tracks menu select bounce to track.

Or you can select both tracks and use 'Bounce To Track'.
I believe that produces a stereo track.
I don't have my DAW powered up now and I cant remember if it ask's you if you want a mono track or stereo track but I know I have bounced 2 or more tracks to a stereo track in the past.

+1 Be sure to select Channel Format - Stereo.

On the flip side, how do you take a stereo and split it into two mono tracks?

Select the track - edit - bounce to tracks - split mono.

And if you want to convert selected clips to mono, you can just right-click the clip(s) and choose Convert To Mono. Although, that won't create a split.

Many thanks to both of you.  Oddly enough, it took me quite a few iterations to get this to work the way I wanted it to.  It seems that my first solution (pulling the track wav files into WaveLab and importing the result) was faster and more straightforward than doing it in-place in SONAR.
