is there in Sonar X1 and X2 Producer a normalizer and a noise reduction plugin available?  Probably, there're lots of plugins that can do the job but I was looking for straight and more pragmatic ones...

What I do is tool copy into Wave lab. Sonars normalizer is missing all the critical control you need. You need to analyze the track first for example.
Your working blind. The other thing I don't like is it does not set it self in Db, it uses percentage?? WTF. 

Normalize is more a function of a Wave editing program and is not supplied as a plug in but integrated into the software. 


To apply it you are "rendering" the file therefore a destructive process that cannot be undone once the file is saved. Plug ins are more or less used in a side chain and can be turned on and off, So simply turning up the trim will do the same thing. But, because your working blind you can only guess at what your peaks are and manually look for them, therefore a wave editor makes the job much easier.

Where is the normalize function in Sonar?  And you know if there's a noise reduction?  I used Sound Forge for a long time and this 2 functions were great and straight to the point, very easy to use.  I was looking for similar functions in Sonar but I couldn't find.  Maybe, they're inside another function or plugin...

The normalize function is under the Process menu. Noise reduction is a specialty that's beyond the scope of most DAWs. SONAR does have a "remove silence" feature (also under the Process menu) that's basically a gate that lets you force quiet parts to silence. But real transparent noise removal is something best done with a separate audio editor such as Sound Forge.

It helped a lot.  Tonight, I'll see how the normalize works in Sonar and  I'll experiment the R-MIX for the noise reduction...
