Hello, I have created a new project with sonar X2 and when I try to open it takes several minutes, a very, very long time... but the project is quite simple. Is anyone have this problem before and knows if there's something to avoid it ?

My system is an I7 860 4 Go of ram. The processor is not loaded during the loading of the project. Sonar takes 10 %. The project has 10 Vsti nothing special. I have other project of the same size and the opening is quicker...

I have noticed the same thing but in my case it seems to be related to how many plug-in's / Pro Channell stuff I have in the project.

I have desactivated some prochannel effects that I don't use in my project. The diffence is not really obvious but thanks for the advise!

During the opening 1.7/ 4Go and at the end after 5 minutes of loading, when the project is finnaly open 1.86/4GO Sonar seems to do something, it uses 12 % of the cpu during this time...

the system doesn't to do anything special. The harddrive is not reading or writing at its limit. Ram is ok and cpu also.

How many processes are being loaded at your Windows startup?  You might have hidden threads running that you are not aware of, including "bloat ware" by the computer manufacture.  My own experience would be to add 4Gb of RAM to your system.

Hope this helps.
