No function whatsoever. And the GUI looks kind of weird - all the controls respond but they look a bit "greyed out" and like I said, there's absolutely no function from it.

Now the one on my laptop installation works fine, so I copied the dll over to my main rig but there's no change, which sort of  points finger to a possible deeper problem in my main rig with X2a.

So, any ideas anyone? I use CT in nearly every project for placing stereo stuff where I want it, it's indispensable.

Thanks,

Jonesey

Have you accidentally made the track mono?  It will only work on stereo tracks.

YAY....I helped someone :-)

I've done it a few times myself.

Glad I could help.

I never liked channel tools. It always lies to me anyway. Checking the mix in mono was a disaster because anything I had channel tools on, went away.

I'm a Channel Tools fan. Lots of helpful stuff can be accomplished easily with it.

That's not Channel Tools' fault, Robert. It's your tape-op's fault! He's the one who clicked on the phase-invert button. Fire him at once.

No phase invert button pressed. I just could never grow to like what it does.

All it does is place a stereo sound wherever you want in the stereo field - and it has good M/S implementation.

I think it's an extremely useful addition to the toolbox.

Put it this way, if Sonar didn't have one, I would definitely have to think about a 3rd party solution.

The problem you describe about listening in mono sounds like it could have arisen from CT on a track in MS mode with the middle severely attenuated

im a channel tools junky myself, critical for bringing a tracks that's buried in a mix out in the open.
when frequency's are being hogged up in the spectrum and you run out of panning options it works great.

your not alone on this one thought bj, this happen to me for the first time a few weeks ago, it took me awhile to figure out it was a mono source.
