Just finished a rather thorough laptop optimization session with Jim Roseberry. Sidenote: Please patronise Jim ...he's a very capable tech person. We set about determining if the problem could be remedied by eliminating variables that could cause a brief program freeze and subsequent "white screen" when inserting soft synth(s). We chose the recently updated to x64 KORG M1 as a test. After all was said and done, X2a continues to display this behaviour. We then installed Reaper to test its' behaviour when instantiating the KORG x64 M1 ...Result...instant availability. At this point it appears to be a problem with SONAR X2a. To Sum It Up: All Win 7 updates were installed prior to the optimisation process Nvidia G660 Display driver updated to current (3D, PhysX features uninstalled) After a thorough optimisation process, SONAR X2a continues to freeze for a length of 2 - 6 seconds when instantiating soft synth - all varieties. If you experience this problem: 1. Did it happen with previous versions of SONAR? MY problem seems to have begun after installing latest X2 Producer update 2. Will you please report it to Cakewalk or post your own thread so the website admin will notice the reports on this particular problem? I am now and always shall be a dedicated SONAR / Cakewalk customer.

this should be something you try to solve this here and if you cant I suggest you call tech support to figure it out.
this has been tough one for me, I haven't installed he updated versions of korg but the old 32 bit versions would crash my guitar players pc everytime he saved.

here just found this going on right now in the forum, jump in if you think it will help  :)

HI CHuck... Thanks for your reply. The topic I just read through concerns various situations with the KORG soft synth .... This thread is about a problem that appears to be a bug in SONAR X2(x). I cited the KORG M1 only because we decided to use it a test case. All KORG legacy synths run very well for me ...thank heavens. Best Regards Roy

I experience this too, when loading dim pro, true pianos v1.9.5;korg M1 and all. I noticed this after the update X2a. THeres more than that it displays two identical tracks while the masage in the counter says "processing tracks"

musec03, this another topic but im just wondering how to upgrade korgM1 do you uninstall M1 then install the x64 M1 or just install the updated M1 without uninstalling the old m1? thanks.

What I did with my M1 update was let it install right over the existing 32 bit dll. That way when I opened up a project the 32 bit version was already replaced by the 64 bit version. You may want to rescan your vst folders as well.

Thanks phrygian for posting your experience. It did become manifest after installing X2a... ...and yes ...it's easy to upgrade KORG Legacy soft synths to 64 bit as described by emwhy...

musec03, could you contact tech support (if you haven't) and give them the link to this thread and also the other recent thread you too replied to?:

I've been submitting other problem reports and feature requests for both Sonar and Studio One recently and can hardly find time to make music...
