  • Go Time in Sonar X1, how to go to a given bar?

Hi there!

I would like to go to a particular bar/beat in Sonar X1. When I hit "G" and the "go to time" thing shows up, I can't for the life of me figure out how to go to a M:B:T. It only shows smpte time or real time.

The help file says to input like this: 2:1:000 (bar two, beat one) but when I do that it shoots over to bar one zillion.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Wish they hadn't changed the old transport...

Thanks
FD

Hi FD,

It sounds like you may have changed a setting in your preferences. Press P and choose the Customization - Display category in the Preference dialog box. Then remove the check mark next to the option called Display All Times As SMPTE. That should return the display in the Go dialog box back to M:B:T.

Also, a little tip about the Go dialog box... click in the To Time field and then press F5 for quick access to any markers that you have in the project.

Ah! Thanks so much!!

I compose for film/tv so I always set that pref. to smpte.

Loving X1 but I have a pretty big list of "why'd ya have to change that?"

Lol.

Thanks for the help!

Thanks Scott...

That F5 shortcut is an excellent tip... That's gonna help me often!

Too bad there's no way to change this dialog on the fly as I've tried it both ways and continually find the need to switch back and forth depending on situation... and thinking... ;-)

Much Thanks...

Clicking on the time in the control bar will also toggle between the various formats - I find that quicker than going to preferences.

Yeah, but once you get used to it, you'll probably find the X1 way easier.

No problem, Keni! Glad to help. Yeah, being to switch without going into Preferences would be nice.

Bob... that only changes the Control Bar display, not the display in the Go dialog box or other places like the Preference setting does...

Didn't know that.  I usually tool around using markers.  Thanks,
