  • Show stopper X1 bugs? (p.5)

My show stopper is that X1D plays back my tracks at a higher pitch than was originally recorded. I am running Windows 7 (64 BIT). My machine is brand spanking new from ADK PRO AUDIO. I have read other threads talking about bit rate (but I don't think that is the issue) as well as Windows update issues. My PC is up to date. Can someone help? Thanks, median

That's usually a sign of a sample rate mismatch somewhere.

Where do I go to find/fix that in X1? Or, how do I fix this problem in general? My projects were all recorded in Sonar 7 at the default rate. I believe it was 44.1 but can't be sure. My old hard drive started acting up. So I saved all my projects as bundle files and ordered a new PC. When I got X1 and started trying to open my Sonar 7 bundles this is when the problem started happening. I could really use some help on this. Thx

Hello.

This is an old thread, but i'll post here before making a new thread.

Everytime i install Sonar X1 Studio x64 (updated to 1d), everything works perfectly. I set up my paths to another HDD as adviced here: http://forum.cakewalk.com...mpage=1&print=true . And when i start making my first project, everything is smooth!

But then after a while X1 starts lagging in even playing the songs. It loads projects farely fast, but every time i trigger record button or just simply try to play the song, it takes ages. And i really don't have any idea what to do. I've been even so frustrated by this that i haven't wanted to record anything.

If any of you has some ideas i could try, give me a hint! I like Sonar but i'm soon forced to go with other softwares.

Processor: LGA1366 i7 920 @ stock
Motherboard: Asus P6T Deluxe v2
RAM: 6gb DDR3 Tri-channel
120gb SSD for Windows and Software
500gb for other Cakewalk folders (project, content...)

What is your audio interface?

Ah i totally forgot to mention that...

I'm using ESI ESP1010e PCI-e:

I just made a fresh install of Sonar X1 Studio and Amplitube X-GEAR. Updated to version 1d.

Well I was hoping that I could tell you to get a better audio card but that doesn't look like good advice.

I would check out your buffer settings, try upping it.

BTW what OS?

Playback/Record buffer size? It's now set to 256. Maybe i should try 512?
I don't understand much of those many options in the settings.

I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium x64.

Currently i'm trying to reproduce the problem.

1. I have Studio Drums on one channel, 4 measures 120 tempo.
2. I then recorded as long guitar clip and added an effect to it.
3. Added as long Dimension LE clip.
4. When i started adding fourth channel, just recording silence to it, i had my first freezing.

First i pressed rec on channel, then the record button and nothing happened. I pressed spacebar and recording stopped. After that it recorded fine and played it ok. More testing...

Okay, so far it seems that increasing the buffer size worked. No troubles while recording and playing.
I'll still keep this thread bookmarked in case futher troubles rise. Usually it has taken some time before they occur.

But now it seems good. So thank you John! :)
