You know, I've been looking at that track one wave since you posted it.
It looks to me like you may have way too much gain early in the chain and are attempting to compensate too late, resulting in a basically destroyed low level wave.
Remember, for a good recording, you generally need much less distortion than you think.
Try taming it on the front end.
Compare your procedure on track one and track three.
Track three looks pretty good, but I agree, track one looks kind of funny.
