Well...I guess I don't rightfully have a good answer as to why. I guess that is why I spend time on here! I have learned something new! ....and maybe I just like to watch Sonar open up and display all her beauty to me...

Now that I can understand!

Hi, John. The reason I'm restarting Sonar after the scan is that, although I can see the plugin in the plugin manager, it is not available to load into the FX bin. Restarting makes it available. I don't know why this is. It didn't used to be the case for me.

cowboydan, what is the specific setting you are referring to?

Thanks,
Ben

In the preferences menu there is a button on the vst page that lets you scan the vsts right away without having to start up again.

a button ?

that narrows it down.

there are a few buttons in there.

If you have a problem with what I put on the forum or any other problem pertaining to me, then bring it on.

Anyone else know if there is a specific setting that controls this? Thanks.

Controls what?

Controls whether a plugin is available right after the scan is run (same session) or whether exiting Sonar and relaunching it is required. Since at least X2a I've had to relaunch, which never used to be the case.

First I run X2a and I do not have to restart Sonar in order to have a VST scan work. Also this is not the way it is meant to work. One reason Cubase, for example, scan on every startup.

Perhaps you are not running X2 as an administrator.

Perhaps it's related to a custom plugin layout?

what am I supposed to bring on ?
what are you going to hit me or something ?
your showing the same behavior you always do and it seems to be a trend.

wasn't there a thread a couples weeks ago where you were the one who respond to me with words like , "loser" and "Idiot".
see Dan, maybe in real life you go around verbally abusing people but I don't.
I say thing like "well that narrows it down" big difference
and rather than say things like "Bring it on" like you've been watching to much WWF or something,
I say things like "I'm going to pass on that." (the bring it on)
