No X2a is the last good version.

1. So, is 8.5.3 the last good version? By that I mean, are the changeovers in X1 and X2 a huge bunch of cosmetics which bother long time users like me?

2. Some DAWs, such as Logic Pro, have an envelope pane in which one can draw envelopes that will affect all tracks at the same time. When will Sonar have such an exceptionally useful tool? In stead of drawing envelopes separately for each track, one could save bundles of time by drawing just general envelopes for all tracks. For ex., strings in pop arrangements swell and ebb at the same time. Why would I have to draw (maybe copy) all those envelopes separately? This would go for all of the available envelopes and maybe even effects.

S.

1.  As John said, X2a was the last "good one".

2.  Won't drawing automation on a bus do this?

"... I can't find anything taken out of X1 that we had in Sonar 8.5.3..."

Here's one - The ability to re-order tracks in the Console View.

Good point, plus the ability to read the track name in narrow view, plus the number of sends available, in fact - less said about the CV the better..........
I think the opposite.  The more we - as a user base - point out our needs, the better.

Please forgive me - Is this really Billy Arnell?  If so, I am very confused - and I mean nothing by asking.

Check the date of the thread! I've been discombobulated by old threads with Billy making an appearance in them too....

I saved his work, he was a great guy, a great help here too.

to syliva, juststay at 8.5.3.
but when someone comes over your studio and looks up on your monior and see's you running a version of sonar years old, don't say I didn't tell you this doest look professional.
not to mention x2 was made to better the user experience as was x1.
if you find a special setting an older version that's not there anymore, well this is common.
windows 8 pulled my start button but im not going to go back to xp.

Hi John, X1 removed from Track View the Interleave = Mono button (as well as the Phase button). And yeah, that continues to annoy me. --Joe "It's the little things" Tabby

No it didn't. It is in the Track Inspector. If you mean they removed it from the track header that would be true but as stated it was not removed from the track view only moved from the track header to the track inspector.
