So...I LOVE X2 but here recently EVERY time I try to use it. It crashed and stops responding a few minutes after opening it. Does anybody know what the problem is? This just started this week. Even a link to a post where this has already been answered would be helpful. Thax Cakewalk fam, Matthaeus

We need more info, system specs, operating system, what type of project are you opening, does it contain any 3rd party plug-ins etc.

+1 - we need to know:

What version of Windows, and what maintenance level of Windows?

32/64 bit Windows?

32/64-bit Sonar?

CPU and memory?

Sample Rate for your audio interface?  ASIO Buffer Size?  Dedicated interface or on-board sound card?

Sample Rate in Sonar?

If external audio interface, is it plugged into USB 2?  USB 3?  Firewire?  Precisely what make/model interface?  Precisely what driver version?

And lastly, as much detail on what happens when it crashes.  One particular project?  Any project?  Any particular plugins used?  Anything else you can think of.

This is probably a solvable issue, as this behavior is not happening to a bunch of folks, so with enough diagnostic information, we should be able to get you past this.  I will certainly give it my best shot in helping you, and others in the forum will, as well.

Sorry, where is my brain. Yes, Windows 7 home,Toshiba satellite p745, Intel core i3.M-Audio Fast track Pro, AxiomPro, It doesn't matter what type of project I open. If I open a new file then load any plug in it freezes. If I open a saved project, it freezes.

Are you able to open any project in Safe Mode?

Are you able to create a new project?

Start by running a full virus scan, memory test and disk scan. Also, crashes are often caused by device drivers. Make sure you have the latest driver for your soundcard.

See RFC 1925 Rule 7 and 8.
EDIT: Sorry, this was meant to just be a humorous attempt to relate to the OP. Just ignore me.
