Hey all. I just had a problem pop up. Running producer 8.5 win 7 pro, using a mackie pro control. If I open a sonar project and go to midi devices, I have Mackie usb In/out as choices, I tick the box next to each, click ok, but it doesn't stay ticked. If I go to control surfaces and choose mackie I have no in or out that I can select. I know this is due to the midi devices not staying ticked. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Do you have the latest patches for 8.5 installed? I've never had a MIDI Device get deselected on its own.

Hi Dave. I have 8.52 installed. I just did a new install with win 7 pro. I had it working. Opened a new project, and my mackie wouldn't work. Really weird. As I stated above, In my midi device dialog, I have the motu in & out there. Again, if I check it, then close the box and reopen the dialog, it's unchecked.

Perhaps this maximum usb midi issue:  http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/kb/reader.aspx/20090210

I think it applies to Windows 7, too.

I was fighting the same battle a couple of months ago - midi situation had been consistant for a couple of years (midisport 4x4, moog phatty on USB) added a krog kronos hooked it up usb and my midi devices started playing a round robin of disconnection.

Read what I could on the interwebs (not a huge topic) got some idea it was a Win 7 issue and went to the 5 pin cable for the phatty and the kronos to keep my midi devices list consistent.

Might as well apply 8.5.3 http://www.cakewalk.com/S...eader.aspx/2007012920, it has more than AudioSnap fixes.

Fixed it.. I'm going to post what happened and the fix just in case anyone else ever has this issue.
Last night I had installed a webcam on the computer. I was going to use the webcam to record live videos of our trio performing in our studio.
It appears that the drivers that I installed for the webcam for whatever reason messed up the midi. I did a restore on my computer, and all is working fine.
Yesterday I replaced my my hard drives, and installed Windows 7 Pro. So I was in the middle of reinstalling everything.
Thanks for the help guys. Bobby

Thanks for posting the fix. I thought maybe you might have a USB conflict, but I have a lot of USB devices on my computer (4 on board and 2 hubs with 4 each) and never had a conflict. Glad you got it working.
