So, I have a bug at the moment where I can click the Lanes button and nothing happens except the meter scale changes. Seems all the bugs I found in the last few weeks all happen during tracking. Never mixing.

Not much I can add or elaborate on other than, it simply doesn't work.

Yeah, I've run into this one too... Just today again as a matter of fact... I had to clone the track and then I could access the Lane in the cloned track...???
 
Chalk up another one... I'm already too awnry from how much re-sizing and display adjustments I've been making all day due to Lanes.... <sigh>.... On TOP of issues such as you mention...
 
I'm guessing a large part of the reason for dropping Layers and replacing it with Lanes has to do with the multitouch access which I may never live long enuf to own here myself (I don't even know if I want yet another place to have to move my hands while playing...)

I can't tell you how much difficulty this issue is for me... the real estate... I guess the people who are pleased with Lanes muct not need as many per-track or as many tracks simultaneously with Lanes displayed... I spend more of my time re-sizing and adjusting my display to deal with the myriad of issues that it staggers me...
 
I can't zoom large enuf... (The zoom action is horendous to my eyes) and I can't minimize small enuf when needing many Lanes exposed....
 
Then all the actual bugs of movement (moving/copying) issues complicate matters even more... I'm sure glad I can comment each Lane and have larger mute/solo buttons which I essentially never need/use.....
 
At first I was thinking X2 made me more comfortable with the X paradigm which I have not liked since X1 was released.... then the horror of Lanes took over and removed so much of my joy... But at least they released the LA2a/PC2a plugin as that was something I truly wanted.... Worth the trade-off?
