Hi guyz , i'm going crazy ....
I updated platnum on my desktop with zero issues , copied the files , tried on laptop : errors ...ok so i re dowloaded the files thinking it might be a corrupted installer or some  : same !!!
 
Need your help on this one !!

i'm on windows 8.1!!! wtf ?
 
it's working on another comp same os !!

i tried to manually re install "visual ect .." as stated in the article : unable to install , another version is already  installed !!

It's not specific to Windows 7, just more prevalent.   Do you know whether both Win 8.1 installs are at the exact same update level?
 

i went into the error log file journal of the visual C++ 2015 install fail :
 
[0F24:17D8][2016-06-22T02:34:32]e000: Error 0x80070666: Cannot install a product when a newer version is installed.
 
 
 

i never have to update systems usually ...i know that software installers usually add visual C++ stuff on the need ...
 
My other system is the same !!
 

Looks like the one that is installed with sonar is the KB2999226  ..ans it's not installed on my laptop , so i downloaded it and no way to install it : "this update is not for you computer " !!!
 
i'm officially depressed , because my desktop have been updated by the software install (didn't done any updates since a while) 
 
While the laptop don't want to install it .....
 
 

never had to update one system since years 1990 to get a software to work ...
 
the only KB that is missing is not installing ...
