Hey,

I have SOnar X1 producer expanded. With a previous  v. of Sonar I could easily right click on an event and draw a loudness curve, e.g., I might have a guitarist who was too loud (is that possiible/ LOL) for a few seconds, and I 'd split around him and decrease his volume. BTW, I am aware of automated editiing---I'm not refering to that.  HOw do I do that with Sonar X1?

Thanks!

You can highlite a section and adjust the gain (i think under process, I'm not on my sonar, but I set up control G for it) or use automation.

HOw do I "highlite a section and adjust the gain"?....It seems like the old Sonar allowed you to right click an event and either pan or manipulate volume.

If you want to apply the change permanently, you can click the clip to select it and choose Process > Apply Effect > Gain to change the volume. If you don't want a permanent change, you can use a Clip Gain automation envelope or you can also automate a selection...

Scott,  I want temporary. Where is "Clip Gain automation envelope". I right clicked on an event and did not see it. Boy....it used to be so easy...just right click some audio and you had your choice of volume and pan....

Thanks

OK...I see now (after watching Saintom's suggested YouTube)...thanks man.

I'm not sure I like it....but I'll get used to it. It's in a different place now.

Thanks all!

Yeah, automation has been totally reconfigured in X1 and X2. It's actually much nicer now once you get used to it.
