Jonesey: Haha..sorry about the accent. Temp-let must have killed you. Hahaha! I remember fighting with a guy (not fighting, but he was one of my best friends so we were each giving each other a bag of poo about it) about temp-let and tem-plate.

We busted on each other about it for about 2 days. So we find this site that shows how different people from all over the world say it, and we made up our minds that whatever the majority went with, that's what we'd say. So we're going through all of them cracking up while we're doing it....so far, the temp-lets were winning. We get to the last one....I'm hoping for the win, then all of a sudden this voice comes out...

"TEMMMMMPLAAAATTTEE!!" (said correctly but very over-emphasized and dramatic, which is tem-plate of course lol)

Well man, we lost it for like a minute straight. Needless to say, it was a draw...so I still say it wrong, and he says it right to where it STILL sounds so wrong to me! Hahaha! Like I say...I can't say "water" around here and take it seriously. It's gotta be "wooder" or it don't sound right. LMAO! :)

mel: thanks a lot and you're welcome. I'm going through my archives a little at a time. I hope to have some others up soon. Been really busy with client work, so it's been a bit more difficult to get the time to go through them and edit them. But I will definitely get to it and post up a few good ones for everyone.

Thanks again guys, so glad you enjoyed this stuff. I'll be in touch with some more really soon.

Hey Danny - no need for apologies! Like i said, you'd totally crack up laughing if you ever got to hear my mixture of West Country accents.

I was born in Plymouth, Devon which imparted a certain lilt to my speech, but we moved to Bristol when I was 16 which made things even worse!

+1 to everything above, Danny.   Great video.

While I may have already understood how the Transient Shaper controls worked, seeing and hearing it used in context makes a world of difference.  And helps to get ideas stirring around too.

Good thing I'm from just across the river and could understand your Joysey accent too, ya know?

Another big thanks to Danny, the transient info was great but the gated snare was something that was missing for me and really seems to give snare like a 3D dimension used like you did there. Really connected some dots for me at the right time. I'm sure grateful for these food for thought videos, thanks again

Excellent job with these, Danny.  Really easy to watch and understand.  I've noticed that Cake has loaded up a few new videos on Youtube with a lot of in depth info, but, unfortunately, the guy they have narrating is VERY dry... I can't seem to make it through an entire video without falling asleep. I mean, I can understand everything that's being said, they just kind of miss the "human" quality.  You have that in spades, my friend. I look forward to watching anything you put up.

Much appreciated!

I really needed to get some understanding on Transient shaping ...... I bought Stillwells Tansient Monster a couple of years ago and sort of forgot about it . Turns out it works very well . I'm using the SPL Demo right now ,,, Its great too .  It can make a lead vocal sit good in the mix too . Your presentation really reminds me of Graham from the Recording Revolution. That was a compliment man. Thanks
