This is new to me.  I've been using X1D for about 2 years now and this just happened today:

I click on the X1 icon to launch Sonar> a message box pops open saying:  There are no audio devices for the current driver model on your system.  Please go to Edit | Preferences | Audio | Playback and Recording and choose a different driver model

I click OK.  I get another error box that says:  Silent Busses Detected (saying the Master is assigned to a silent buss).

I click OK.  Then Sonar crashes.  (SONARPDR.EXE has stopped working).

Looks like I may have to re-install but if anyone has any suggestions, please share!

I'm using a VS700 as the audio device and it's on and the light indicated it's working properly.  In fact, 8.5 sees the VS and works properly.

Is Windows detecting your audio interface?

I have had this problem in the past, and it was an issue with the device drivers for my audio interface.  I ended up rebooting Windows and everything started working again.

I have new drivers (for a long while now) and no longer have this issue, but that was what fixed it for me while waiting for the now working device drivers.

So, try rebooting Windows and post back,

Well, like I said, 8.5 works and sees the VS700.  This happened after I booted the computer with a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40.  It's happened before that Sonar opened with the driver settings switching to the Focusrite.  It's a PITA and may be a Windows thing but I'd have to switch the audio device back to the VS.  Anyway, I'm re-installing now so I guess it's a bit late...

Had the same issue here with my saffire pro 40.It
happened only  when the firewire cable lost contact .
Also, if you have still not done it, go for another (better)
firewire cable. The one  which is delivered with the saffire is a   m......ss.

Good luck

The Saffire AND the VS700 are both disconnected and it's still happening (detects the master is assigned to a silent hardware output and then crashes before it opens).  I even re-installed X1 to no avail.  I've connected the VS700 to a laptop and it works!  The odd thing on my main pc is if I switched the sample rate to 44.1 or 192, the VS seemed to work.  So that lead me to believe it's the VS.  But, as I said, the VS is working at 88.2 (the sample rate at which I normally record) on the laptop.  Could it be something was written to the config file?  This is totally baffling me and I could use some help because I'm currently dead in the water!

Yeh, Sounds like its not seeing or loosing the sound card (VS)

Have you uninstalled and reinstalled the driver for it?

Maybe disconnect it and try another interface just to check the DAW out as well

Sounds more like the driver or something along that line.

You got your last post up while I was typing and farting around

I have an RME Multiface connected to the PC too.  On all my other computers Sonar will open EVEN if there are no audio devices connected.  Sonar is crashing BEFORE it opens ALWAYS on the studio computer.  Real strange.  In fact the VS is working on my laptop now!  So I don't think it's the audio devices.  I'm thinking there's a corrupt driver somewhere but I'm a producer not a software guy.

Ahhh  I See,

And the Comp guy is gone for the day?

Have you considered trying to do the driver reinstall yourself?   Just a matter of going to the Download link and hitting it.

You running Win 7

Another thing you could do is post in the VS 700 area of the forum and see if any tips come up as far as doing it

I would assume just download, power everything down and back up and should be good just to check.

I dont have a VS so not sure though
