  • Transient Shaper weirdness (SOLVED)

Having seen Danny's transient shaper video I decided to try it out on a bass track in my latest project.

When it's inserted my drum midi track starts missing out some of the notes (mostly bass drum notes).  I'm using Steven Slate Drums 4 as the synth.

If I remove the TS all works as advertised, reinsert it (in the effects bin, I've not tried it as a pro channel module) the same thing happens.

Any thoughts?

Increase your MIDI buffers that may help.

Thanks Karl,

I've a feeling I have tried that, I need to check, I used to ave a similar issue with SSD in Kontakt so increased them then. However, I will check, any idea what the default is off the top of your head?

Sting, I'll take a look at this on my end also using Slate and get back to you. I've had quite a few issues with his stuff in Sonar. Their tech support was not too good at helping me though, so I abandoned that ship. I'll do a few tests and see if I get the same results as you.

When you create the virtual drum tracks, are you using "all tracks stereo" or mono? Let me know so I can look into it for you. I'll be in touch.

Sting, tested it here with 3 instances of TS 64 using Slate 4. No drop-outs or weirdness.

My first midi buffer setting in Sonar is 128. (default is 64)

My playback buffer is set to 2000. (default is 256 or 500 I believe)

No issues at all for me.

Thanks for that Danny, I've not had chance to look at my settings yet, but I'm using all stereo outs.

I'll check again tomorrow.

Thanks again bud.

I think the default in X1 is 250-I just bumped mine to 500 and havent noticed any kind of issues.  Dont hurt to jack it way up and work backwards with it.
