I was coming in to comment on this thread, but see scook has beaten me to it.

It was only six months ago, but it seems like forever.

Odd coincidence - I have a singer coming in tomorrow to put down the final vocal for the track I was talking about in that thread, and was just looking at it, for the first time in six months, before I came on and read this thread.

Linear Phase, Look Ahead and CPU intensive effects like Convolution Reverb can do all sorts of odd things to latency and PDC.  I now never use them during tracking, or disable them if I have to track after the event, or freeze them if they throw up any issues.  I then only use them during mixing, when I can set my buffers much higher.

Thanks Karl,

I've a feeling I have tried that, I need to check, I used to ave a similar issue with SSD in Kontakt so increased them then. However, I will check, any idea what the default is off the top of your head?

I think the default in X1 is 250-I just bumped mine to 500 and havent noticed any kind of issues.  Dont hurt to jack it way up and work backwards with it.

I'm pretty sure that 250 is the default as well, although 500 is recommended I think. I thought there had been some changes to the way the MIDI buffer works in X2a making changes unneccesary but I could be wrong. It iscertainly worth increasing if missing MIDI notes is an issue.

Thanks Karl,

I should mention that this is happening during the mixing phase with my audio card buffers at max, which seems to negate the linear phase issues.

I'll get to check later.

Thanks for the input.

Solved.....

Thanks guys.

With Playback buffers set at 250ms same weirdness, adjusted to 500ms weirdness disappears and all is well.

HTH someone else another day.

Same thing happens if you use Rmix, midi buffers up to 1000 sorts out the skipping Midi beats syndrome.
