I have been using my laptop with sonar 7 with the onboard realtek audio card.  Everything has been working great for a year, but since having to reformat my computer and reload Sonar, I have lost my settings and cannot get an input signal to a track.  Existing tracks play back fine, but I cannot get input signal through Realtek to Sonar.  If anyone is using Realtek as I am I sure would appreciate all the settings to get this going.  This time I will write them down!

Thanks so much!  I got it working.  Now, how do I get rid of the echo delay when I'm laying down a track?
I need to hear the notes I am playing in sync with the playback track.

change the latency in preferences/playback.

OK,  if I keep the input echo off that took care of the delay.  Now, for the latency setting.  If I have it at 10.0 msec it breaks up really bad.  However, at any of the higher settings the quality and latency are good.  So, should I just push it to the fastest latency setting?

The latency setting may need to vary depending on what you are doing. Often people set it as low as possible when tracking (a "fast" setting or smaller number of milliseconds) and adjust it up (a "safe" setting or larger ms value) when mixing. MME mode is not noted for low latency operation.
