Once I finished a simple instrument track (drums with AD), I tried to drag the track in the track window from track 4 to track 1 and I lost sound on the track. Even with a new track created and different parts played the tracks are greyed out and have no sound, however I can still play the synth through it, just no playback sound. ??? None of the audio tracks were affected.

If you can, would it be possible to post a screenshot?  It would make finding the answer a lot quicker.
 
In the meantime, just check track is not muted or archived, and that the track's output is sent to a functioning bus (either master or another bus that is eventually routed to master).

@jb101 i have been away for a bit, thanks for your help idk what happened to the inst tracks. I finally deleted the tracks and re-recorded them, user error I'm sure.. All is good in Sonarland here fully operational!! :)
