Having a couple minor issues exporting BFD2 drums to indiviual audio waves.

I have created tracks in the SONAR project, assigned the inputs as the outputs of the BFD2 mixer, so each drum has its own channel in Sonar.  In order to export, I have been freezing the synth (BFD2) and then export those channels out as individual audio files.  however when I freeze the tracks some of the samples, like every now and then a cymbal gets cut off too soon and does not sound natural.  I cant seem to find a way to freeze only one track/channel of the soft synth.  I also cannot figure out how to export the drum audio without freezing it first.  While freezing, I do have the OFFLINE feature selected.

Any suggestions ?

You don't need to freeze first.

1. Select the tracks (if you only want to export certain tracks).
2. Choose File > Export > Audio.
3. In the dialog box... choose Tracks for the Source Category.
4. If you selected tracks first, they should also be selected in the Source Buses/Tracks section, otherwise select them.
5. Choose your export settings.
6. Click Export.

That should export each track to a separate audio file. If you're getting glitches with the export, try removing the checkmark next to the Fast Bounce option in the Export dialog box. This will do a real-time export instead, which some synths require.

In BFD enable Offline mode. It's a button at the bottom of the BFD interface. Cheers.

Oops. Didn't read your whole post. I'd also try disabling Fast Bounce in the Export dialog and increasing your latency buffers (not sure if that effects export).

Thanks guys!!! @Beep - LOL, no worries mate!

I looked up the function of the OFFLINE button in BDF2 and it is inteded to be used when fast bouncing is selected, in other words when "rendering" in non real time. While rendering in real time is should not be selected.  I think it has to do with creating the data vs. creating and playing the audio. So I have tried a few different ways. seems like when I freeze there is alwasy 1 or 2 minor errors in the audio.

I don't do the freezing thing either, just select the MIDI track and the individual out (kick, snare, OH, etc) and bounce non-fast.

That said, you ~can~ solo all the drum outs & mute all the ones you don't want - say ...everything but the OH to bounce the OHs.

Maybe the freeze is actually screwing things up. Try using the Bounce to Audio feature instead to see if it clears it up. However try all Scott's stuff first. He is far smarter than I am. ;-p

Good luck.

Oh and you should probably clone the MIDI stuff before doing the bounce to audio on the track or at least save as before doing it. You'll want to be able get at the original MIDI tracks if need be.

Why? The MIDI isn't going anywhere. I freeze synths but even if years later I want to use that MIDI I can.
