Sorry to be so basic. I have used VST synths and effects often. MY B4 II progrqam from Native Instruemnts will only load the dxi version. How do I emply DXI synths. Are there DXI to VST converters?

A number of Cakewalks bundled instruments are DXI. If the plug in bit depth is the same as Sonar's there shouldn't be any issues. I don't know if Sonars wrapper supports DXI.

Are you using a 64bit version of Sonar? or a 32bit?  Can you post a little more info about your DAW host, and system specs?

I am a little confused by your post.  B4ii is a discontinued program but it still runs fine in 32 bit version of Sonar on its own, but that was a vst version of B4ii.  That vst version also still runs fine in 64bit Sonar because it is bridged by using Sonar's bitbridge or alternatively by J-Bridge.  If you only have a Dxi version of B4ii, I think it still should run in the 32 bit version of Sonar.  If I recall, the problem with dxi's is running them in the 64bit verson of Sonar.

As to your question about a dxi converter--  There is a program that wraps dxi programs into a vst shell.  It is found here: http://www.kvraudio.com/f../viewtopic.php?t=177538  Some people have found it usable, others not so much.  See if that helps.

And perhaps post a little more information about your specs and DAW bit version.  Perhaps others can chime in and give you more info.  Try that vst shell out and see if it helps.

Most odd, sounds like a corrupt installation file! I have B4 II and it runs as a 32 bit VSTi. In fact I have recently installed it on a new DAW. I can't get on the NI site at the moment but IIRC if you log on to your account you should still be able to down load the installer for the final update.

The NI site is playing ball again. I can confirm the B4 II is available for download from my account, so you should be able to log on and get a new installer.

Those older NI synths are all 32-bit VST instruments. I don't believe there were ever DXi versions. SONAR x64 will automatically use Bitbridge to load them; no need to do anything on your part as long as they were picked up by the Plug-in Manager's VST scan, and are available for insertion.

The B4II installation process includes VST, DX and RTAS options.
