  • For all KORG Legacy users, they are now 64 bit! (p.2)

John I loved the Monopoly. I had most of those synths in real life for a long time. I started with the MS20 and expanded that with the MS50 to form a powerful modular with the step sequencer and vocoder etc. Then later Korg released those later models Monopoly included.

Korg synth fan here, too.   I had the MS10, Polysix and Monopoly.  Something about the "Korg sound" always worked for me...

Edit: Oh... and the Poly-800 too.  I had to look that one up because I couldn't even remember the name!

This x64 update seems to have fixed the Legacy Cell issue, I had - the GUI broke and froze Cakewalk sometimes, but now it seems to work perfectly. Very Nice!

I have searched my hard drives, and the only version of MDE-X .dll is the one that I presumably installed, with file timestamps from February, 2013. I have reinstalled MDE-X using the 64-bit installer, in an attemp to eliminate the possibility that I had accidentally used the original installer. But Sonar continues to identify MDE-X as a 32-bit plugin.

The plug-in manager's VST scanner will not rescan existing plug-ins unless the option to rescan existing plug-ins is checked (set ON); normally this option is set to OFF (unchecked).

So if you installed the 64bit plug-in version into the same folder as the previous 32 plug-in and the dll file name is the same - the plug-in manager will not update the plug-in information (because it doesn't know things have changed) and Sonar will treat the plug-in as if it was 32 bit. The same type of problem can happen if you replace a 64 bit with a 32 bit plug-in.
As an alternative to rescaning ALL existing plug-ins (which can be a major pain) if you 'hide' the plug-ins (rename the extensions to something other than DLL) rescan, then fix the extension names back and rescan again - that should cause the plug-in scanner to blow out and then reload the plug-in data and fix the problem.

I ran into the same issue just last week when I was cleaning up my plug-in folders. I try to keep my 32 & 64 plug-ins separate and had some plug-ins cross-swapped.

For those who use MenuMagic the next update will have an option fix this particular issue without having to rescan your existing plug-ins.

Jeff I completely agree. You make some good points and I think they are right on target.

The keyboard on the M1 was the same as the DX7, both made by Yamaha, both excellent synths to play live.

M1, T3, O1/W, Motif XS all use the same keybed.
Nice/quick action...
