So I had installed some plugins that I realize I would like to have X2a bitbridge use in 64 bit X2a.


I do not want to scan all the plugins in the folder a lot of my 32 plugins were in, but some of them I do.

I had a 64 bit bridged plugins folder to that I pointed some vst installs to, but missed some.

I was hoping I could put a shortcut for each vst dll file in the 64 bit bridged plugin folder so Sonar would scan just that plugin. It does not seem to work

Any ideas on how to get Sonar to scan specific 32 bit plugs in the same folder that others I do not want scanned?

Under Preferences/VST there is an option to scan failed plug-ins.
Select only that and scan the folders again.

If your 32bit plugins are in subdirectories in the 32bit plugin toplevel directory, you could specify the subdirectories in the 64bit Plugin manager. A better solution would be to have three plugin toplevel directories. One for 64bit only, one for 32bit only and one for shared plugins. Most plugins can be copied after installation to other directories; there are exceptions though. I have not tried using shortcuts.

How about just letting them scan, then using the Plug-in Manager and add them to the Exclusion List?  I believe the excluded plugins are basically ignored after being added to the list...

I know this is of little help but I have avoided this issue by creating multi plug ins for my folder,the thing about this is I used to have to make these custom plug in menus,now everything looks nice on the list when there in parent directorys,split in 2 main cats 32/64,one in programfiles,the other in programflies(86)

Awesome guys. I am EXTREMELY busy in the studio in a good way, but I am working on this every moment I get.

I want to go full 64 bit to be able to truly have full use of my 16 gigs of ram.

This works as well John. They just have to remember to always point to the correct folder in either case so the vst scans from SONAR get everything.

My issue was that I had already installed things and wanted to only scan certain plugins that I had not put in a folder for bridging.

I took the advice of just scanning the whole 32 bit plugin folder as well and then customizing in SONAR 64 for what plugins to actually activate, etc.
