I notice that the Cakewalk deal does NOT require iLok.  found that interesting.

I know nuttin about the plugins but it seems like a nice way to get into Wave plugins.

Waves no longer requires iLok since early last year IIRC.

IIRC you buy one or the other but not both at once for that price.

okay I did not know that.  good to know.  The Cakewalk product page in the store had iLok NOT required in bold like it was a new feature or special to Cakewalk.

great now I have to go in a corner and rock back n forth to avoid all the wave sales.

I own lots of plugins, but none from Waves, so this peaked my interest.  But I do have some questions that a former/current Silver Bundle owner might be able to help with - I couldn't find answers in their Answer Base for anything that had "Silver" in it's name.

I don't understand the Waves Update Plan, but the Silver Bundle doesn't appear to be covered by it.  Is this true?

IR-L does not provide access to Acoustics.net - correct?

Is it true you can only install the bundle on a single machine at a time?

If all the plugins are 64-bit, they sound great (quality wise), they impart an interesting character, and they're stable - then this looks like a great deal.  If the suite is being deeply discounted for us because there won't be a version 10 or you can't update/upgrade the bundle - that's an issue at any price.

Got an email for the Waves Silver Bundle for $249.00 ($350 off). Seems like a fantastic deal to me . Any takers/comments out there?

Regards,

I wish I got emails.  Used to get them back in the 90's from Cake.  Anyway, anyone have a link to where the offer is online?  Save me the 15 seconds it'd take to search

dcasey there's a video on the Waves site that details how to register the bundle and yes it can be used on a second machine. Heres a link to the actual Silver bundle from their site:

And here's a video on how to register:

I hope this question is not silly.  I am just starting out learning, but putting many hours in and getting serious in recording songs for my band and others and myself.  Should I consider buying Waves?  The reason I ask is shouldn't I have enough plugins in Sonar X1 Producer to record and master good music?  Thanks in advance,
