stick with MC5 until he realizes that it doesn't offer everything he wants or needs, then look into upgrading.   IOW, upgrade based on want or need, not just for its own sake.

+1. If it meets your needs keep on keeping on.

Steve, every version from 6 up to X1 have been rock solid for me.
I wish I could get X2 straightened out.

Well, loaded MC5 and watched the dialog box load Studio Instruments and see it on my c drive, but MC5 doesn't see it. Don't remember having this problem on my old xp machine. Maybe not compatible with windows8?
Probably should've posted this over in the Music Creator place.
Still not ruling out an upgrade tho to studio x

Yeah, there have been similar posts from a few others which would indicate that there's something about it that doesn't agree with certain systems.  My guess would be system level files and/or graphics card interaction, but that's just a guess.   I wish you could get it stable as well because it really is a great upgrade... when operating properly.

Perhaps you should hook up with Danny - he's in Joysey too (though I'm not sure how far).  Although I think he's using 32bit...?

Yep, way ahead of you.
We're setting up a time this week. He's about 40 min from here.
