P.S.
Of course, if you want to record from other devices, using the line in or microphone or whatever, you just set that as default, uncheck exclusivity options, listen through DMX speakers again and select the input quality (usually 16 bit, 44100).

Running a DMX 6Fire on Windows 7 fine here.

Driver version 5.53.3.144, dated from 31/08/2007.

I had some crazy problems with the dmx6fire in vista.  It would work fine for a while.  I would leave the computer and come back an hour later to no sound.  Sound could always be restored by disabling and then re-enableing the device, so I put a batch file to do that on my desktop.  Anyway, when the W7 compatibility checker said it wouldn't work with W7, I decided it was time to move on.  However, I would love to use the card in my older computer which I plan to upgrade to W7, so it's nice to know that it can be made to work.  It exactly met my needs for several years.

By the way, those who say they have it working in W7 all say they're using the 5.53 driver.  Does it not work with 5.54?

Whoops, never mind, getting my driver numbers confused...

I didn't even know there was a 5.54 driver. where did you find it?

Jean Francois,

Thanks for your report.

Have you tried using the front panel rca inputs and outputs for recording and playback with these drivers in Win7?

I'd like to continue using my DMX 6Fire with Win7 too.

Sorry - it's the WinXP driver.

Hi there! I'm also trying to run a dmx 6fire under windows 7. It works quite well, but wenn i try to change my asio settings int the "asio control panel" i get a bluescreen. prompt is something about the dmx6fire.sys not working well, but i cant really read it because the system shuts down after a few seconds.
after rebooting i get these problem details:

  BCCode:    3b
  BCP1:    00000000C0000005
  BCP2:    FFFFF88007101502
  BCP3:    FFFFF88006783F70
  BCP4:    0000000000000000
  OS Version:    6_1_7600
  Service Pack:    0_0
  Product:    256_1

(don't know if that helps anyway)

my system konfiguration is:
intel i core 5          CPU
asus p7p55d        motherboard
OCZ 4gB DDR3 1333 RAM
Windows 7 64 bit

thank you for your help!

Hey there, I also got a blue screen when trying to reset the Asio settings in the control panel, but even though I didn't change them, everything works fine and the quality is good.
The only problem I am dealing with now is that sometimes the card de-activates  unexpectedly or it goes crazy and starts producing sounds out of nowhere, like echoing some of the internal computer sounds.
I suppose that I will eventually have to switch back to XP, or buy a new card. Pity, because this card was exactly what I needed and served me great for so long.

yeah. seems so.
uah. im using my onboard-card right now.
I could use the dmx 6fire like this, but it would be great if i could change the asio settings, especially the buffer size to reduce the input latency. (sometimes i'm recording) I already tried to access the configuration via "ASIO4ALL" but it was no good.
