Seems like it actually takes more effort or at least arm movement to use a touchscreen vs. a mouse or input controller...as a guitar player who writes/creates by repeatedly looping/recording takes and sections at a time, I wonder if a touchscreen would be beneficial or not? One thing I KNOW I want, is small foot controller to control the transport to keep my hands on the guitar ...I think I found that...

I have a touchscreen as a second screen and mounted it as if it were a surface controller. It's awesome, Everything on the Control Bar works with touch. You can drag the time line with your finger and touch the set loop button. The transport works with touch. Arm Record, solo, mute,it all works.
If it were your only screen mounted vertically and you had to reach over your keyboard to use it, it would probably suck.
If I don't want to record sitting right next to the desk my Frontier Design Transport is working fine on Windows 8x64 using Windows 7 compatibility mode. If all I need to do is hit record or rewind when I clam a take and need to start over, I just use a wireless keyboard .

Right Joe, I think if you place it in a traditional way it could be tiring. Placed as Joe describes would work much better.

I use two 23" Acers. The bottom one is the touchscreen. The upper one is standard.
