I want to edit some MIDI clips using the step sequencer. I thought that if I used the "Convert MIDI Clip to Step Sequencer Clip" that the new sequencer clip would be visible in the step sequencer when I clicked on the clip and the step sequencer opened. However, when I do this, the step sequencer is blank. How can I "import" a MIDI clip into the step sequencer for editing?

If you're using SONAR X2, just click in the upper-right corner of the MIDI clip and choose Step Sequencer from the menu. That will automatically convert the clip and open it in the Step Sequencer. In addition, from then on, double-clicking the clip will open it in the Step Sequencer.

Not sure what version you are using but this was a bug (or perhaps still is but I thought it was fixed). When opening step sequencer clip for the first time the pattern wouldn't be shown. A second double click on the clip should show it.
