I have a project I have converted Audio to Midi on drum tracks

I insert a MIDI SoftSynth template SD3 where all the tracks are separated in SD3 in their own folder.

I have previously set it up as a template for SD3 where it is all in its own folder and broken down by pieces in the kit to load into any project.

Heres the situation

I load the template into an existing project that already has some SD3 drum tracks
--When I insert the new SD3 template-I can play, record, solo and anything I want to do to the tracks using the PCR500/A500 Pro-All works wonderful

--I then go up to a previously converted Audio to MIDI track (Lets say the snare) that was there before loading the template in,  Copy and Paste the data from there to the new folders template track for its snare.

I hit play and nothing-no meter movement, no sound, nuffin. But I can still hit the keys and it plays, etc...

I check PRV it shows the regular keybaord notes-not the SD3 kit on the PRV Keys (IE  C3=Bass Kick)

I bring up the SD3 MIDI folder and bring up SD3 GUI through it and it shows the Program (Say Steven Slates Kit) is loaded.

I compare all the routing from the Project Template I have created to this Project from and all routing is the same.

It just wont play any SD3 data that is copy & pasted into the new SD3 template Ive made when loaded.

Seems strange

Just curious, not a show stopper.  I was trying to clean up a project and get it organized and minimize/delete some tracks and stumbled onto this. I know theres been alot of similar posts on it-thinking this is along the same lines?

If someone wants to try it the way I created this

1--Convert an audio track to midi for lets say a snare or a kick drum in SD3

2--Right Click in the track view header area and load a Soft Synth Template for SD3

3--Copy and paste the midi track from step 1 into the track for the snare in step 2

4--Does it play ?

I may be WAY off-target here (and, if so, I am sure brighter minds will straighten me out...), BUT... did you go back into the SD3 mixer and insure you are routing each individual channel separately to the correct track?

Yep,  Checked every option from tracks, busses, and inside on the SD3 GUI on each track in there.

Strange,

Cant see it cause-
It will play anything I put in by keyboard or the gui, just wont do with what is pasted from a track that has been copied/pasted or maybe something with an Audio track that was converted.  Whats got me on that part is it they are all SD3 tracks of a Kick or Snare or ...  so I would think it would still do the same even after pasting it.  But then theres the issue in PRV where it doesnt post the item on the keys, its still just the regular notes like C3, C4, etc...  displaying on it.  Something between the 2 I think.

Ill try and post some screen shots of it later this afternoon

Is the MIDI track outputing to the input of SD 3?

Also perhaps the MIDI channel should be channel 10.

OK figured out what I was doing wrong  LOL

Once the template is loaded and all tracks from SD3 are dropped into it

For Example
1  kick
2  snare
3  hihat
4  tom
et....

the last track will be labeled MIDI

Pasting data has to be done onto that MIDI track and not the individual component tracks.

So I guess you just layer it all (the entire kit) on top of each other when doing the copy/paste thing huh?

Yes, put all the MIDI in the one MIDI track. The other tracks are the audio outputs for each part of the drum kit.

Keep in mind any MIDI track or tracks can output to an input. If you want the kit pieces on different MIDI tracks simply output all those MIDI tracks to the same input. They must be MIDI tracks.
