If after trying that you still have a problem could you email the samplesort.log file from here:
 
C:\ProgramData\JamSoft\SampleSort\Config
 
and email it to support at jamsoft dot co dot uk

I had the same error message and also tried a complete uninstall/install to no avail......

I'm really sorry about this guys.  The web sites installer has been rolled back to v0.7.0.
 
www.jamsoft.co.uk/samplesortfiles/setup/SampleSortInstaller.msi
 
You'll also need to un-install the current version you have, and delete this directory before installing 0.7.0 again:
 
C:\ProgramData\JamSoft
 
I need another test machine.  I can't actually meaningfully test this and carry on development without one, all my Windows instances are used for development and just don't reflect users environments any more.  I may have to pop to a shop tomorrow nad pick up an 'el cheapo craptop for these duties.
