Hello my friends,
It seems I don't have the time, patience nor technological skills to get what I want from my productions but don't have the cash to pay someone that does.
I'm hoping to find someone skilled that will do this for free or cheap or that will do spec work (open for negotiation).
This is a song I wrote for my wife and needs to sound good/melt her heart.
At the very least, the scratch track vox will need to be redone or will need Melodyne (which I haven't even messed with).
I haven't updated my soundclick page for a long time so let me know if you'd like to hear more current material other than this one.
If interested please reply or PM me.
Thanks very much,
Randy

I think the song is very nice and really the message is going to get across no matter how the mix is. That is what she is going to respond too. The mix is certainly not bad. The message is very good. The song effected me, so as far as I am concerned it is a 10/10.

Thank you very much, I'll email you by the end of the day...It's 12 tracks but 4 of those are strings which I feel comfortable enough to bounce those down to a stem.
I've never done this before but I'm guessing I would need to bounce all VSTs to audio and send as a .cwb right?
Thanks again so much guys,
Randy

I have a couple of people that have generously offered to mix this for me.
Like I mentioned, I've never sent a project out before and wondering the best way to do this.
I have frozen all of the VSTs and there are 3 vox tracks.
I have created .CWBs before but it's been a very long time and wondering how to get the audio in the bundle.
I created one but it wants to reference my VST hard drive when I try to unpack it.
When I try to do a save-as cakewalk bundle, the "copy all audio with project" and "create one file per clip" are greyed out.
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong please?
Thanks very much,
Randy

I would check to see if the intended mix engineer has the same vst as you or:-

Remove any additional FX or sound treatment to the individual tracks i.e. reverb etc.
Then bounce/freeze each track so that the max signal level is between -18 to -12 with peaks at no more than -6dB for each track, this will give the mix peep some headroom and space to add any appropriate FX.
I would be tempted to export each of those track as stems which can then be imported into a new project.

Just a suggestion.

I agree with Jeff regards the mix in general.

Thanks Wookie I'll ask if they have the VSTs (which would probably be ideal) but let me ask you about the alternatives you mentioned.
You're suggesting I turn off all FX on all tracks and master before freezing right?
Also regarding exporting the tracks as wav, I should just select a track and export with appropriate file name and then they could just drag the wav files into a clean project?
Maybe dumb questions but I want to make sure I understand.
Thanks again,
Randy

Yes that will just create the raw audio unless there is a very specific FX you want on that track, like a particular echo or chorus, I was thinking of sends to things like reverb any Pro channel thing like consul emulation etc.

Yes that was my idea.

One thing you can do is freeze each track and make sure it extends back wards to Bar 1 even it that means extending clip length to include silence this will make importing the files into the new project easier to line up.
