As an update to my stand alone not opening, I used GTR3 and CLA Guitars on a track last night and both were a fun time and I look forward to more exploring.
   So, it must be installed correctly. RE the stand alone version...
This is the pop up message;
GTR3.5exe-Bad Image
C:\Program Flies(x86)\Waves\Apllication\icuin51.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an
error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc000007b 
 
Hopefully, I'll get to uninstall and reinstalling it today. I'll post after the fact.

This has been a good thread for me. I also got GTR with Gold and never gave it another thought. There are a lot of amp sims out there and they all do things a bit different. Fun to find out what is good with what.

As much as I've bashed Waves (for good reasons at the time), it's only right to also give credit when something is done good.
 
Missed the sale and wrote support asking to keep me on the mailing list for the next chance. They replied and set up a direct link for me to get the $39 sale with CLA and GTR 3. Complete no-brainer. GTR 3 is still a fantastic set of effects. Had forgotten how well the chorus stomp box widens things out.

Damn! That was sweet deal John! Glad you got in on it. : )

Just wanted to add to this thread to point out that the flanger stomp in GTR3 is probably the best flanger plugin I've heard....it's my go-to for all flanging requirements! Sounds especially amazing on synth bass....I have lots of other flangers and I seem to spend ages trying to dial in the sound I want, whereas the GTR3 one just sounds right to me straight out of the box.

This is how I feel about the Tube Compressor in Amplitube rack fx's. It just sounds good!
