On what charge?

Ok! Ok!  I confess!  I really should have been convicted for fake drum abuse in the following song...

For the record, I had only been playing drums for TWO weeks and this was a first take (I play every instrument - no, not all at once, that would have been much cooler).  I had just bought my Schecter Scorpion baritone guitar and had to try it out (running it through one of the weird filters on my G-Force) so I came up with this song.  Please excuse the drums if you can.  Here's Berry Jam.

I liked the part where there was no high hat -- intentional or not - that was my fav part

oh -- and the guitar in the beginning  - the part that went darn ner daaaaar doot darn neeeer!

that was neat

oh and then the other part with the bass going dum doo dummm doo dum do -- fast like ish

well yeah -- good job!!

As told by bass players:

Q: What do you call someone who hangs around a rock band?
A: A drummer.

I wouldn't say this to a couple of Grateful Dead drummers! Or a Ginger Baker! Or a Mani Neumeier! Or the late Pierre Moerlin! Or the late Bonzo! Or the late Moonie!

Are you implying they don't understand English communication either?

Weird that you would ask that ... if there is one thing that does not require a "language", it's music! You probably forgot.

Now if you had joked about 3 of them being dead, it would have been OK, but I doubt that anyone told those folks anything about drumming, since they were far and above most of them. You still have not heard Mani playing with the guitarist, not the bass player ... and folks here (sometimes) think that bass is only for the drummer to play with, at least in jokes!

AND, after reading a book like "GARCIA - An American Life", I can tell you that if you were Phil and you were listening to the drummers instead of Jerry ... you would have been out of that band the first night! It's the same thing with the great bands and music out there ... it's more than just a backdrop for a song!
