I want to make sure I have a copy of SPLAT and also my other products to be able to install in the future.

Since I have used command center I don't think I have something I can use if I ever buy a new computer.

I imagine this has been discussed but I could not find it in a search.

Does anyone have a step by step procedure to download the relevant files and authorizations?

I downloaded the Platinum setup files from My Account but it looks suspiciously small in size compared to earlier versions like S3.

Thanks in advance

Hi. If you used default settings in CCC when installing, they are in
C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Command Center\Downloads
They are all you need, if you have a full installation now.
All the best.

That's because the the downloaded file is the main program only and excludes the bundled plugins. You will find those in several downloadable files on the same page.

You can also download all your pertinent files from your account on the site, including all files, serials and reg numbers. Under "My Products" you'll see everything you own, plus all the relevant data about them. I took screenshots of it all, cut and pasted the text right of the page for serials and the like, and downloaded every file I own, including older install files for products I upgraded from. Never hurts to have everything. You never know when the site may no longer be there...

Yeah, but per other panicky posts elsewhere on this forum, what happens when you try to install all those .exe's on a new machine because your old one died?  And the new one has a new MB and a different OS?  Are you screwed?

Rob.
Sorry, perhaps I am off topic, but does anybody know if and how Sonar's plugins may be used in other DAWs? I do not own any other and I cannot try myself but before switching to any other, I would like to make myself an idea of what I will be loosing. I mean, TH2/3, Sonitus effects, CA plugins (effects, mixing and mastering), EQ, Style dials, etc.; what of these could still be used and what definitively lost? Thank you!

Unless the TOS/EULA has changed, Cakewalk allows you to make 1 copy of the program for back up. Writing your serial number and registration code on the CD/DVD box would be a good idea, too.

But don't these installers get activated by the server?  If the server goes bye-bye, what happens then?

According to the Offline Activation (see step #5) an online PC is needed.  That implies a server on CW's end.

Probably?
My newest program is X3e, and it didn't require (AFAIK) being online.
Progress. Bah!
