For reasons unknown, at times my piano roll does not scroll to keep up with the now time. The now time bar disappears to the right and I am left looking at old music. I thought I read somewhere that this is a "feature", but I can't find that again, and I can't figure out how to disable it or stop it. The only thing I found that works is closing and then re-opening the piano roll. I try putting focus elsewhere, clicking and un-selecting everything I see, but none of that works.

Any  suggestions welcome!

rb: I can't tell you how this comes to be....but it is due to when you edit in an area for an amount of time. It does this so you don't lose your place. If you just change where your timeline starts, it will scroll again for you. I've come to actually like this feature...but at first, I actually thought it was a bug. Try what I'm saying the next time it does this. Just put your timeline in a different spot after you're done editing in PRV and it will resume scrolling. :)

Hi rbecker,

In X2 we introduced a feature where if you make an edit during playback in the Piano Roll View, scrolling will stop. This prevents your edit area from being ripped out from under your mouse. To resume scrolling right click in the timeline of the PRV.

Hope this helps.

RIGHT click...That works. Didn't know my mouse even had a right-side button.  Thanks.

this is actually a cool feature, and it can be turned on/off in the PRV preferences.
if your adding in notes or making edits on the fly,the prv will stop scrolling for you because it thinks you want it to.
like dan said, just right click anywhere in the prv to reset it.

this can be (like I said turned on or off)in the prv settings.
which one ?
(not at the daw right now,but I can get back to you on this.  :)

if you find this wont take care of the problem, look on your keyboard theres a key called "scroll lock"

Choose Options > Click Behavior > Left Click Locks Scroll from the Track view menu to toggle this feature on/off.
