Can anyone tell me if this is a glitch.

When I open the zoom tool with 'Z' it zooms where I click and drag but leaves the tool active.  It's the same when I do ALT-ZOOM.

I tried escape and every other combination but it still stays in the zoom mode.  I don't think they wanted people to zoom and then hit the smart tool just to quit the zoom function.

I have producer X1 on Windows XP

Any help would be appreciated.

No, that's not a glitch. That's how it works. However, if you press and hold Z, then do the zooming while continuing to hold Z. You can then let go of Z after you're done zooming to automatically return to the previous tool that you were using.

Its a tool right? You have called it up using the keybinding but it would be the same action if you used the tool HUD. One would not expect a tool to change after calling it up. The smart tool does change but that is why its call the smart tool and it changes by placing it on hot spots.
