Where can I get a plugin that does that smooth overdrive sound ProTools has?

Pro tools captures and record exaclty what you put into it, just like sonar does. Pro tools has effects, just like Sonar does.

All you need is a vocal that was recorded decently, EQ, compressors, saturation effetcs, may some tape sat or distortion effects.
Sonar has all these. Use your ears and mix to taste bro

Well I hope this doesn't turn into another poop flinging festival. Things have been reasonably calm around here lately.

Oddly a great many people use, and like, ProTools.

There were some things I liked about Pro Tools, it's interface is very good (and far less buggy than Sonar's) and it's editing and clip management functionality is great, and again is less problematic than Sonar's. But damn I just could not work with a VSTi heavy project without the thing choking on me all the time, and on a couple of occasions it just randomly decided to "corrupt" MIDI data in projects I was working on, making them unusable. I could not wait to ditch it and move into the 64-bitosphere.
