Frosty,

how else you gonna learn, man.  Just start turning knobs and pressing buttons. Then read up to understand what you'd done.  And remember, you don't learn anything from doing things right.

What I do when I'm logged in here in the evenings is to have Sonar open and try out everything that is mentioned in the posts as I go through them.

There was a nice tour of drum maps yesterday evening.

Where was that tour Paul P.? Can you maybe fund the thread and post it here? ....and typically that is what I do myself, as far as going through the forum on one computer and working through things on m7 DAW that I find to be useful to me...I'll be back at it again tonight!

I think he might be referring to the drum map thread you started. I've gotta check out some of the stuff in there myself. I haven't really dug into drum maps yet. Not sure what extra benefits they offer over the PRV. I've been able to get some crazy drum parts together with just the PRV so I haven't bothered worrying about maps just yet.

Frostysnake, Beep's right, I was taggin' along in your thread.

Going off on a tangent from there (thanks Charlie, and mike) I discovered the very useful "change a whole column of drum map values at once" shortcut.
Make a selection of rows then Ctl+Shift+click the value you want to change.
